Vista 64 bit Special Directions

Additional Installation Instructions
                               For Windows Vista or 7 [64 bit]

IF THE PATCH IS NOT SUCCESSFUL AND YOU GET AN ERROR UPON LOG IN FOLLOW EACH STEP FOR A GUARANTEED FIX:

Re-Start Your Computer and Follow these directions with CheckWriter Closed:

1. Double Click on My Computer (sometimes called "Computer") and then Double Click to open C:/

2. Locate folder called Program Files (x86) and open it.

3. Inside this folder you will find another folder called "CheckWriter 6" - Right Click on this folder without opening it and select COPY to copy the entire folder with contents.

4. Next, return to C:/ and locate the folder called "Program Files" (without the x86) and double click to open it.

5. While inside "Program Files" right click on the CheckWriter6 folder if there is one already there and select DELETE and then confirm.

6. After the CheckWrier6 folder is gone, in an open area of the Program Files folder RIGHT CLICK and select PASTE.  This will paste the CheckWriter 6 folder into your Program Files folder.

6.  Re-map your shortcuts on your desktop or start menu by right clicking on the red checkmark icon and selecting properties. Where it says target

"C:\Program Files(x86)\CheckWriter6...

Change by deleting (x86) like this:

"C:\Program Files\CheckWriter6...

LAST STEP:
To run CheckWriter for the first time, RIGHT CLICK on the CheckWriter icon and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR to allow administrative permission to use the software.
